MIAMI, Okla. — The city of Miami, Oklahoma has a new ordinance to deal with the issue of stray cats, dangerous or unwanted dogs, and irresponsible pet ownership.
The city’s animal shelter says it wants to be proactive before the issue gets out of hand.
The shelter manager says a change they are most excited about is the ‘trap, neuter and, release’ policy that comes with the ordinance.
Animal control will schedule vet appointments the day before and set up traps for cats, get them neutered, and return to the same place.
