Local students release Monarch butterflies after they transform

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. – After watching their transformation, local students release Monarch butterflies into the wild.

KOAM Photojournalist Ty Parks headed to Anderson, Missouri to check it out. Students in the Middle School Science class have been watching caterpillars grow into Monarch butterflies.

Not only is this a good science class experiment, but it could also shape a kid’s future. “Right now, we’re looking at the fact that this is a class that is teaching life skills. We could have a future conservationist, or, you know, park ranger or something,” says Sharyn Enlow, the Reading and Nature Teacher.
