Pamela Jean Hoag

Pamela Jean Hoag, age 59, Columbus, Kansas passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, Kansas.

She was born October 11, 1962, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to the late James Marshall Sr. and Elsie Tuaber Marshall. She is additionally preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Hoag, and a brother, Bill Marshall, and one sister, Vivian Helzer.

Pam married Mark Hoag on July 24, 1981, in Columbus, Kansas, he survives of the home.

She worked for Class LTD, for several years, the family construction business, Dollar General, retiring from working security at Slurry Explosives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Nathan Hoag and fiancé, Shannon, Oskaloosa, KS, four brothers, Richard Marshall, Francis Marshall, Russell Marshall and Jimmy Marshall, three sisters, Joyce Seibuhr, Jackie Piña, and Esther Bennett and four grandchildren, Lydia Hoag, Aubrey Hoag, Uriah Hoag, and Johie Hoag.

Pam was loved by so many and had a huge heart. She was always there to help anyone in need and loved everyone as they were family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. While she only had two sons and four grandchildren, she treated her sons’ friends as if they were her own and loved all children as they were her own grandchildren.

 

She enjoyed wildlife and the serenity of nature. She also enjoyed taking pictures and scrapbooking, holding memories of her loved ones close. She will forever be missed and loved. The absence of her presence will not go unnoticed as she was always someone to have great conversation with at gatherings.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery, Columbus, Kansas.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus.
