James Morris “Jim” Burbridge, age 87, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 11:24 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Lacoba Nursing Center in Monett, Missouri. He was born April 20, 1935, in Barry County, Missouri, the son of Marion and Lela Faye (McCullah) Burbridge.

Jim was a 1952 graduate of Marionville High School in Marionville, Missouri and was an insurance agent for Western & Southern Life Insurance Company. He was an avid hunter and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was a member of the Aurora Fundamental Methodist Church.

On October 18, 1952, he married Helen Louis Garoutte, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2013.

Jim is survived by two sons, Jerry Burbridge and his wife, Sherry, of Republic, Missouri and Charles Burbridge and his wife, Annette, of Aurora, Missouri; two grandchildren, Lucas Burbridge and his wife, Laura, of Republic, Missouri and Doug Burbridge of Springfield, Missouri; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Burbridge, of Burlington, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Marion, and Lela; his wife, Helen; grandson, Drew Burbridge; two sisters, Norma Glensky and Lula May Crouch and one brother, Kenneth Burbridge.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private burial will be held at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Aurora Fundamental Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
