Carol Ann Simone, 73, of Pittsburg, KS died September 15, 2022 at Via-Christi Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg.
She was born December 8, 1948 in West Mineral, KS, the daughter of Prosper and Lucille (Hawthorne) Meriaux.
On September 16, 1967 she was united in marriage to Gerald J. Simone at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon, KS.
Carol worked as a book keeper and church secretary. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Pittsburg.
Survivors include a daughter; Kay Lynn (Simone) Gerwert and husband Mike Gerwert of Union, KY, son; Father Mike Simone of Wichita, KS, brother; Richard Meriaux and wife Rae of Columbus, GA, sister; Elaine Huntsinger and husband Art of Pittsburg, KS, two grandchildren; Joseph and Jacob Gerwert of Union, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Monday, September 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Bishop Carl A. Kemme as celebrant and Fr. Mike Simone as homilist. A private burial will follow in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery, Scammon.
A parish rosary will be recited at 10 am prior to the Mass at the church.
Family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg, KS.
