James D. Bollinger

James D. Bollinger, 71 passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11:30 p.m., at his home in Miami, OK. He was surrounded by his wife and children.

Jim was born on June 2, 1951 to Elmer (Cotton) Bollinger and his wife Mildred of Manila, Ar. They preceded him in death.

Jim served in the Army from 1969 through 1971, stationed in South Korea and was honorably discharged as Communications Chief with an E5 rating of Sergeant.

He was a truck driver for Holland Trucking until his illness forced him to retire in 2017.

Jim also was Commander of the Baxter Springs VFW for 5 years until he fell ill. Member of the American Legion and past Rotary President in Colorado.

Jim is survived by his wife Wilma Bollinger, 2 sisters Barbara (Dick) Legge of Cambridge, Wisconsin, Jane Bollinger Yarbo of Searcy, Arkansas and 3 sisters precede him in death, Shirley Taubert, Mary Boorman and Carolyn Bollinger.

Survivors also include their children Virginia (Shane) Dahl of Menomone Wisconsin, Jeremiah (Lora) Bollinger of Boling Texas, Sarah (Dakota) Crews of Carthage, Missouri, Jeff (Julie) Moore of Muskegon Michigan, Sally (Dennis) Frierson of Tulsa Oklahoma, Karla (Terry) Risley of Carrollton Georgia and Christopher (Julie) Vogel of Claremore Oklahoma. As well as 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Northeast Oklahoma Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Geoff Buffalo will officiate.
