Rickey “Rick” Earl Grove

Rickey Earl Grove, loving husband, father and grandfather left this world suddenly on the evening of September 10, 2022 at the age of 73.
Rick was born to Earl and Rosalie (Beel) Grove on August 8, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri. Rick attended Asbury Grade School and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1967. Growing up, he was very active in sports.
Rick married his high school sweetheart, Donna Ann Moore on August 23, 1968 at Carl Junction Christian Church. They were blessed with three wonderful sons.
Rick attended Missouri Southern State College and graduated in 1971. He was involved in the Missouri National Guard for ten years.
Rick was an active member of Fairview Christian Church since 1978.
Rick was employed in various financial business affiliations. He found great blessings in serving the following ministries: Nios de Mexico and Life of Hope. Rick was a former member of Carthage Kiwanis group.
After retirement, Rick became involved with Peterson Outdoor Ministries where he led fishing outings for disabled veterans and first responders. He found joy in serving others in the great outdoors. Rick also continued to serve as a board member for Life of Hope Ministries until his death.
Rick was a true gentleman. He loved the Lord and his family unconditionally. He was always had a kind word to share with all people he met. Rick was an avid outdoorsman and loved being out in nature. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and his annual family fishing adventures to Canada to “catch the big ones”. Rick will be truly missed by so many!
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Grove; beloved son, Erick Wayne Grove; adored granddaughter, Mary Margaret Grove; nephew, Jamey White; father and mother-in-law, Don and Hazel Moore.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Donna; sons, Mike and wife, Kelly, Aaron and wife, Crystal; Grandchildren, Cecelia and fiancé, Seth, Katherine, Leo and Eli Grove; Dakota Grove. Also his brother, Larry Grove and wife, Skip; His sister-in-law, Linda White and husband, Newt, brother-in-law, Roy Peterson and wife, Linda Grove; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, which he loved so much.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Fairview Christian Church September 16, 2022. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Fairview Christian Church September 15, 2022. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Ulmer Funeral Home to Life of Hope or Peterson Outdoor Ministries.
