Neosho announces upcoming Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest

NEOSHO, Mo. – The Neosho Arts Council announced its upcoming Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest which takes place during the Neosho Fall Festival.

The October 1st event features cash prizes for each age group.

“We love turning downtown Neosho’s sidewalks into canvases for works of art,” said Sarah Serio, president of Neosho Arts Council. “It’s a great way to get everyone involved in the creative process.”

Officials say the contest is over a decade old and it inspires the community and its creativity.

“Each year we have an area artist selected to judge the work,” Serio explained. “They are looking for the most creative designs, those that have the best use of the space and colors to express their ideas.”

This year, Lucas Witt, an art instructor at Neosho High School, will serve as the judge.
