JOPLIN, Mo. – Artists throughout the 4-States gathered in Joplin today to participate in the Paint the Ozarks Plein Air Paint-Out.
This 24-hour outdoor competition inspires artists to capture urban settings and landscapes, as long as it’s outdoors.
Plein air painting is about capturing the ever-changing light, colors and shadows of the day or night.
The paint-out runs for 24 hours to allow artists to paint nocturnes.
Officials say the event is Spiva Center for the Arts in cooperation with the Joplin Regional Artists Coalition.
