Special Olympics Kansas tees off for regional tournament

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Southeast Kansas Special Olympics today hosted its Regional Golf tournament for students and adults alike.

Over 150 students from five schools began their game this morning with hopes of having fun with fellow competitors and striving to do their best on the course.

Adults tee off this afternoon as well at the Four Oaks Golf Course in Pittsburg, Kansas.

The event also featured Unified teams that were composed of students with and without disabilities to help competitors form new relationships and bonds.

Officials say the event is a part of the Unified Schools program that helps reduce bullying and promote inclusion.
