Evelyn L. Kiister, 79, of Parsons, died at 11:58 a.m, Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the Elmhaven Nursing Home in Parsons. She lived at Woodridge Estates for a number of years before entering the nursing home.
She was born April 1, 1943, at Mercy Hospital in Parsons, to Roy and Letha Alice (Woolfolk) Kiister. She grew up on a farm northeast of Parsons and attended the Stone Palace School. In 1961 she graduated from Labette County Community High School at Altamont and in 1963 graduated from Parsons Junior College.
Evelyn worked several years at the Fred Ronald Manufacturing Co. and later at the Broderick Company. Her hobbies included fishing and working with farm animals and dogs.
Her survivors are several cousins. Her parents preceded her in death.
A visitation will be from 10 a.m., to 10:45 a.m. Friday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons.
