Restorations and Renovations; Boots Court Motel shows-off historic progress

CARTHAGE, Mo. – The Boots Court Motel today gave KOAM a sneak peek at the historic motel’s recent renovations.

The business sits along U.S. Route 66 in Carthage and officials say it is one of the oldest remaining motels along the famed route.

Though the complete renovation is yet to be complete, officials say a portion of the motel is open for business.

Thanks to the Boots Court Foundation, the rooms received a remodel while workers preserved what they could.

Officials say they were unable to save the original hardwood flooring in each room. However, all bathrooms feature the original tile from when the motel came into fruition in 1939.

Boots Court officials hope to complete all renovations by the beginning of the Maple Leaf Parade.
