CHETOPA, Kan. – Cherokee Nation has a rich history.
To help preserve it, Chetopa has hosted a knap-in every year, for the last 3 years.
Knapping is the art form of shaping stones by hitting them and making stone tools or weapons, or even building walls.
At the Neosho River Knap-in, participants get to learn the art of making arrowheads.
If you’re interested in learning knapping, you still have a chance to stop by.
The event lasts until 6 PM Sunday.
