Edna Faye Mann

Edna Faye Mann, 88, of Purdy, MO, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed from this life to her eternal home promised to her by her Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2022, while at Lacoba Homes in Monett.

Edna was born on February 9, 1934 in Tifton, GA, daughter of the late Jesse Felton Gay and Cora Ethel (Williams) Gay. Growing up in Tifton, Edna attended and graduated from Tifton High School with the Class of 1952. Throughout her working years, Edna worked as an in home health caregiver. During her years in Lansing, Edna was a member of the Grace Bible Church and once moving to Purdy, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Purdy. Edna loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed traveling with her husband.

On July 5, 1953 in Tifton, GA, Edna married James Mann. To this union, they were blessed with three children. James preceded her in death on March 19, 2009. Edna was also preceded in death by one son, Mark Mann.

Survivors include her son, Gary Mann and wife Olivia, of South Gate, MI; her daughter, Karen Lassley and husband Ed, of Purdy; one sister, Lucy Hagan, of Bethesda, MD; seven grandchildren, Salina, Monica, Gary Jr., Christopher, Rebecca, Bryan and Allison; as well as six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mann will be held at Buchanan Funeral Home at noon on Friday, August 19, 2022 with Pastor Ed Lassley officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Purdy in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
