CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. – Cherokee County Commissioners decided last night to lift the burn ban put in place within the county.

Originally, the county placed the burn ban on July 19.

Commissioners say they decided to temporarily lift the countywide ban for this week.

Next week, officials will monitor the weather and reassess the situation.
