Craig Stephen Gilman, age 63, Seneca, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at his home with family by his side.
Craig was born March 25, 1959 in Joplin, son of the late Clifford “Ted” Gilman and Mary Louise “Betty” Gilman. He graduated from Seneca High School and attended Crowder College. He married the love of his life, Susan Eby on April 4, 1980 at Spring City Baptist Church, where he remains a member of.
Craig was a finish carpenter most of his life, and was owner and operator of Nu-Way Delivery Moving/Freight Company for 18 years. He was also a heavy equipment operator for some time and worked construction for over 20 years. He had a big heart and was always willing to do anything he could to help others. He was passionate about spending time with his family, traveling, and enjoyed being outdoors whether that was fishing, boating on the lake, or riding his motorcycle. His joy was being an active part of his grandkids lives whether just being there or teaching them how to do something. He was a member of the Three State Family Boat Club and had a hand in raising money for the Newton and McDonald Counties Foster Kids, as well as the Sasquatch Memorial Poker Run. He will be greatly missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Denise Gilman; daughter, Stacey Janelle Hamilton (Scott) of Seneca, MO, and son Stephen Ray Gilman (Nate) of Quapaw, OK, grandchildren, Tommy Hamilton, Alyssa Hamilton, Keegan Gilman; sister, Mary Catherine Snider of Neosho, MO, brother, Terry Gilman (Mary Ann) of Carrollton, GA; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford “Gene” Gilman, Charles “Milan” Gilman, and John Phillips Gilman.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the One Church, 2801 New Hampshire, with Pastor Shane Munn and Nate Melton officiating. Interment will follow in Hornet Cemetery with Chris Eby, Teddy Kean, Larry Bilke, Jim Rhoades, Paul Wilson, Mike Loring, Dustin McAffrey, David McLean serving as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers are Jason Harper and Paul LeFebvre. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Parker Mortuary on Monday, August 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
