GROVE, Okla. – A Grove, Oklahoma man pleads guilty to a second degree murder charge. Authorities say Cody Buzzard helped kill Jerry Tapp in August 2019. Buzzard’s father, James, and his brother, Dakota, are also charged in the case but are still awaiting court proceedings. You can read more about the case here.
PHELPS, Mo. – Authorities respond to a crash Thursday morning. they say the 16-year-old driver was driving a farm vehicle when he went off the road and overturned in Phelps, Missouri. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger suffered moderate injuries. Follow this story here.
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. – A crash in Newton County takes the life of a Granby, Missouri man. Authorities say 90-year old George Eads was traveling east on Highway H four miles east of Neosho. When he turned he failed to yield for another vehicle that hit him. Eads was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver received minor injuries. Find the full report here.
MIAMI, Okla. – Some residents of Miami, Oklahoma are receiving very high monthly utility bills as high as $1,100. Miami deals with its utilities by combining water, electricity, and other utilities onto one bill. City officials are updating the bill format to be transparent and residents will see specific charges. The city rates have not changed but the GRDA increased its rates and charges.
