News to Know: I44 body identified, Grove woman charged with trafficking Fentanyl, and dog rescued from Mother Nature’s Crack

MIAMI, Okla. – Authorities in Oklahoma identify a body found along I-44 near the Miami exit last week. Authorities say the body is that of 53-year-old Richard Atchley of Chelsea, Oklahoma. An autopsy determined Atchley died from being hit by a vehicle. Investigators say the driver did not stop or report the incident. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Quapaw Nation Marshal Service are trying to identify what vehicle was involved. More details here.

GROVE, Okla.- A Grove, Oklahoma woman is charged with aggravated trafficking Fentanyl. In May, investigators received a tip that Julie Wise was dealing large amounts of Fentanyl pills from her home. After stopping a vehicle leaving Wises’ home for making an illegal U-turn, police found her in possession of 200 pills. The 30 year old admitted that since March she has purchased about one thousand pills selling for 30 dollars each. Wise is also charged with possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and unlawful use of a telecommunications facility.

JOPLIN, Mo. – A heroic rescue in Joplin on Thursday. Firefighters assisted the city’s animal control to rescue a dog that had fallen off the top of the cliffs at Wildcat Glades, commonly known as “Mother Nature’s Crack”. Officials say the dog appeared to have been there three or four days and was injured and dehydrated. Crews climbed down and brought a boat near the cliff to rescue the pup, who is now recovering. JOPLIN, Mo. – A Joplin woman is trying to spread a message about common misconception concerning human trafficking. Angie Brower from Rapha International in Joplin recently remotely addressed UN delegates on the subject. She says many young victims get brainwashed and don’t see themselves as victims.
