Charlotte Ann Sloan

Charlotte Sloan of Pierce City, Missouri passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the age of 58. She touched many lives and was a beloved wife, mother, grammy, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Charlotte was born on August 26, 1963 to the late Leo and Joyce (Williams) Parrigon . As a child, she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Pierce City, then graduated from McAuley Catholic High School in 1981 . Charlotte married Doug Sloan on April16, 1983. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Charlotte was a beloved hairdresser who worked at Designs Plus in Monett for 37 years.

Charlotte’s favorite memories involved her friends and family. As a child, she grew up in a large family and spent the majority of her time playing outside on the farm or at the lake with her 10 siblings and countless cousins. She enjoyed baking, especially with her grandkids, and made everything from scratch. She was a lover of chocolate. If you would walk into her house in the mornings, it would be no surprise to find her with a cup of coffee, paired with something sweet. She was known to go “west” on the weekends and would never miss a weekly trip to Monett to play her lottery drawings. Charlotte spent many days and late evenings at the hair shop, where her coworkers and clients became her family. Her smile was contagious and her laughter brought joy to all.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Doug, and her children Megan (Lee) Jones and Michael (Suzanne) Sloan all of Pierce City, Missouri. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Lincoln, Layla, Abel, and Finlee Jones and Charlotte (Lottie), Poppy, and Mikey Sloan; by five brothers, Neil (Bobbi) Parrigon, Tommy Parrigon, Vincent Parrigon, Wendell (Sherryl) Parrigon, Kevin (Samatha) Parrigon; by one sister Melissa (Randy) Ballay; by one sister-in-law Bonnie Parrigon; by brother-in-law, Mike Logan; by her father and mother-in-law, Johnny and Nellie Sloan; by sister-in-law, Cindy Anderson; and by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Joyce Parrigon; by brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Patty Parrigon; by brother, Mark Parrigon; by brother, Dale Parrigon; by sister, Maria Logan; by niece, Kristi Hedrick; by nephew, Brian Parrigon; and by her grandparents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Prayer Vigil and Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27 with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
