Non-profit supports the Joplin Library with a membership drive

JOPLIN, Mo. – A local non-profit is raising money to support the Joplin Public Library.

The newly formed Friends of the Joplin Library today launched a membership drive to help grow the services of the JPL.

Officials say the goal of the drive is to raise money for the JPL by having residents enroll in memberships.

“We of course want to support the already strong programs that this library already offers. Libraries are like schools and many other entities that an outside support group is often a real boost for them,” stated Alice Snodgrass, VP of Friends of the Joplin Library.

Yearly memberships start at $5 for students under 18 years of age, $10 for an adult membership, and $20 for a family membership.
