Joplin Fire Marshal investigates house fire on South Jackson

JOPLIN, Mo. — Just after 11:30 a.m. reports of a structure fire at 819 S Jackson alerted Joplin Dispatch.

Joplin Fire, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded.

Acting Battalion Chief Dustin Lunow tells us as he arrived the front of the house was fully involved, then they were out for attack.

No one was home at the time of the fire. And no pets.

One person on scene was checked out by medical personnel, as they were checking on occupants before first responders arrived. No firefighters were injured.

Batt. Chief Lunow tells us the Joplin Fire Marshal was summoned to investigate the cause of the fire. Currently the cause is ‘unknown’.
