FORT SCOTT, Kan. – Fort Scott celebrates its heritage during the city’s 39th annual Civil War Reenactment today, April 23.
This free, multi-day event celebrates Fort Scott and its historic past. The event shows residents what it was like living during Civil War era.
The event features the following:
- cooking
- artillery fire
- bread baking
- fort tours
On Saturday, visitors learned about the importance of the Lunette Blair Block House and women’s role in the Ladies Union Aid.
Sunday featured an authentic 1840s church service and a discussion about being a Civil War refugee.
