Vernon Arthur Newell, age 78, of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at his home. He was born June 22, 1943, in Joliet, Illinois, the son of Vernon and Mildred (Hendrickson) Newell.
Vernon obtained a GED and worked for Boeing Aerospace Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Jeckerelyn, one daughter, Amy Newell of St. Peters, Missouri; one son, John Newell and his wife, Jackie, of McClure, Illinois; three grandchildren, Aaron Newell of St. Louis, Missouri, Amanda Mitchler and her husband, Andy, of Arnold, Missouri and Hannah Newell of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one brother, Charles Newell of Miller, Missouri; one brother-in-law, William Rasmussen, of St. Charles, Missouri.
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Eileen, his parents, Vernon and Mildred and one sister, Dorothy Rasmussen.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Campground Cemetery in Chesapeake, Missouri. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
