PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg State University, PSU, breaks ground for a new simulation hospital.
The new addition will be made to McPherson Hall, which is home to the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing.
President Steve Scott, PSU Foundation Chair and School of Nursing graduate Lynda Banwart and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Mary Carol Pomatto spoke today.
The project includes new construction of an approximately 10,000-square feet addition. Crews will renovate parts of the existing building to accommodate groups of 120 students. Right now, there are spaces that will only accommodate 90.
“Highlights will include associated control rooms, a debriefing room, a waiting area, a study area, storage, and restrooms. Combined, the project will involve approximately 24,000 square feet.” – PSU
Private gifts are funding the almost $7 million project.
