Larry Duane Edwards, Sr.

Larry Duane Edwards, 82, a member of the Ottawa Tribe, a former Salesman, a loving father and grandfather, died of natural causes just after midnight on the morning of Tuesday, April 12th.

Larry was born in Miami, Oklahoma to Daisy C. Edwards and Bronson W. Edwards. He loved painting and drawing like his father.

In his teens he decided to try to sell greeting cards in his neighborhood. He had a rough go of it at first, when finally sold a box to an elderly woman he was encouraged to continue. It was winter and was cold. He used this to his advantage to sell all the boxes of cards that he had preordered to make his first profit in sales.

Many years later, after marrying his first wife and with his first daughter on the way, he got a job at State Steel Company in Tucker, Georgia. Selling to builders was a tough job. He only sold a few items before he moved on to selling cake mix flour for Pillsbury and then cameras and photographic supplies for Ansco at which he had more luck.

Finally, he found his calling, selling to chain stores with warehouses. During his career he worked for companies like Faberge’ Cologne, Jordace, Revlon, Helena Rubenstin, Coty and other high profile beauty products companies. Larry was always handsome and charming and quite persuasive. These three attributes landed him in positions of management and at the fringe of circles with celebrities and professional athletes.

He is survived by his daughter, Anna Catherine Kennedy, his son Larry Duane Edwards Jr, his daughter Jennifer Nelle Wileman and his five grandchildren, Hannah Claire Bussey, Addison Meek Wileman, Grayson Edward Wileman, Bronson Frank Edwards, and Ellory Nelle Edwards.
