PITTSBURG, Kan. – Police officers arrested a man in Pittsburg on Monday, April 11th on allegations of child sex crimes.
On April 8th, a resident filed a report to the Pittsburg Police Department involving the possible sexual assault of a 14-year-old child. Police say they received two reports that involved different locations.
Following investigations, police positively identified the suspect as 22-year-old Oscar Hernandez Lopez. Police say This investigation revealed corroborating evidence to support the victim’s claims. On April 11, 2022,
Police then launched an investigation which led to the positive identification of 22-year-old suspect Oscar Hernandez Lopez. Deputies say the investigation revealed corroborating evidence to support the victim’s claims.
On April 11, detectives took Lopez into custody without incident for questioning and later transported him to the Crawford County Jail. Here, deputies booked Lopez for the following:
- One count of Rape
- One count of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child.
Officers say they are holding Lopez without bond and the investigation is ongoing.
