Max Eugene Lawmaster, age 72, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born April 15, 1949, in Miller, Missouri, the son of James Fredson and Ruth Frances (Whittenburg) Lawmaster.

Max was a 1968 graduate of Miller High School. He retired as an SGT E5 from the United States Army and the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon VFW Post 4541. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Senior Golf League.

Max is survived by his brother, Leonard Lawmaster and his wife, Gayla, of Miller; sister-in-law, Brenda Lawmaster, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth, and his brother, Jimmie Lawmaster.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Ozark Prairie Cemetery, northeast of Mt. Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the funeral home, P. O. Box 108, to help with funeral expenses.
