Peoples Convoy stops in Big Cabin, Okla. Sunday night; Passing through Joplin Monday

JOPLIN, Mo. — The People’s Convoy that originated in Southern California Wednesday is crossing Oklahoma today. They are expected to arrive in Big Cabin, Okla. on I-44 this evening to stay the night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released a statement Saturday:

The People’s Convoy website states, “Our core principals of FREEDOM and LIBERTY give rise to the convoy’s request to end the State of Emergency that led to overreaching mandates.”

On January 20, 2022, the Medical State of Emergency was renewed for the 8th time since January 20, 2020. It will last 3 months, the “Renewal of Determination That A Public Health Emergency Exists”, states the Department of Health and Human Services.

Then recently the President Biden renewed the National Emergency regarding COVID 19. The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority state, “Drivers on the Kilpatrick, Turner, Creek & Will Rogers Turnpikes should be aware of ‘The People’s Convoy’ moving trough Central & Northeast Oklahoma during the day Sunday. The convoy will be traveling at minimum speed limits. OHP is monitoring traffic flow along along the route.”

Although no interviews could be obtained from a spokesperson for the group, according to their schedule on their website they will leave Big Cabin, Okla. Monday and pass through Miami, Okla. and Joplin, Mo. onto Sullivan, Mo.
