James E Carl

Lt Colonel (Ret.) James E. Carl of Catoosa, OK passed from this life Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home. He was 100.

James was born to Edward and Viola (Hudson) Carl in Fayetteville, AR on September 23, 1921. James had lived in Catoosa for 37 years moving from Quapaw, OK. He was a banker, an Oklahoma Highway State Trooper and an insurance agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance. He was a member of Miami Lodge No. 140 A.F.&A.M. , Tulsa Scottish Rite Consistory, American Legion Post 308 of Tulsa, OK and the Quiet Birdmen.

James served in U.S. Air Force (Army Air Corps) during WWII as a P51 Pilot. He made 86 missions in Europe. He served a total of 27 years and was a Lt. Colonel.

James was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Carl, September 15, 2013, his parents and 1 sister, Katherine Clouse.
He is survived by his half brother Leon Perry of Georgia.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Catoosa First Church in Catoosa, OK. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. David Cloud, Steve Cloud, Bob Coffey, Toran Vietta, Ray McIntosh and Craig Cochran will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted.
