Robert “Mike” Michael Thulin

Robert Michael ‘Mike’ Thulin passed away February 15, 2022 at the home of his sister and brother-in-law from complications of leukemia.
Mike was born December 2, 1965 to Tom and Opal (Osborn) Thulin; he later gained a second Father when Opal married Bob Poole.
Mike met the love of his life, Betty Hughes, in June 1988 and after 24 years they finally tied the knot in Las Vegas, Nevada on Betty’s birthday; July 23, 2012. Together they traveled to countless ballgames and car races with their kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and anywhere else their hearts desired.
Mike was the best husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to so many. Mike loved to watch his kids and grandkids playing sports, riding horses and dirt bikes. He also loved just being near them, watching them grow and teaching them about life and anything else they did or didn’t desire to learn. Mike had a passion for dirt track racing that was second to none and after many years of pit crewing and spectating he finally jumped behind the wheel when he bought a late model in 2020 and spent the summer racing at several area tracks with his nephews. Mike never lost his quest for knowledge and enjoyed sharing it with anyone who was willing to listen.
Mike had a grin that could lighten any mood; he was funny, laid back and sarcastic. He was one of a kind and anyone that knew him will miss his fun-loving spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents- Tom Thulin and Opal Poole; his wife- Betty Thulin; his son- Justin May and his granddaughter- Gracie Morgan.
