Cindy Cantrell

Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Cantrell, 65 of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Freeman Health Center in Joplin, Missouri, on February 10, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with several different illnesses.

Cindy was born on November 14, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Vernon (Dale) and Wilma Cantrell.  She was a graduate of Carl Junction High School, and a lifelong resident.  Cindy worked at Webb City Wal-Mart for over 15 years as a customer service manager (CSM), until she retired in 2020.  It was the perfect position for her because she loved helping people and she excelled at it.  She previously worked at Sitton Motor Lines, Tri-State Motor Company and MCI as a billing specialist.  She was extremely hard working and dedicated no matter where she worked.

Cindy was enjoying her retirement even after her cancer diagnosis. She went fishing, took trips and spent quality time with her granddaughter that, next to her flowers, was her absolute pride and joy.

Cindy was a jack of all trades. She excelled at making crafts, drawing, painting, decorating and repurposing furniture, but her true talent was gardening.  Cindy had a green thumb and an amazing ability to create the most beautiful landscapes as if God designed them Himself.

Cindy was a kind-hearted woman of great faith.  She would go out of her way to help anyone in need, regardless if it put a hardship on herself.  She loved cooking and baking and would make treats to take to work and church, especially for Christmas.  Her Christmas goodies were the best.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Ashley Cantrell, and partner, Kristin Moore, of Carl Junction; one granddaughter, Isabella Grace Cantrell, of Carl Junction; two brothers, Steven Cantrell with his wife, Ann Cantrell, and Robert “Bob” Cantrell, both of Carl Junction; three nieces, Mandy Bauer and Morghan Cantrell of Carl Junction, and Mariah Cantrell of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; and two nephews, Mike and his wife, Melissa Cantrell, and Garrett Cantrell, all of Carl Junction.  Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Vernon (Dale) and Wilma Cantrell.

The family will hold a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, at Fir Road Christian Church in Carl Junction.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
