Carl Bronson

Carl Bronson, 86, of Erie, and a former resident of McCune, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:15 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Elmhaven Nursing Home in Parsons.

He was born on July 15, 1935 rural McCune to Harold and Eunice (Hobson) Bronson. Carl attended schools in McCune and graduated from McCune High School in 1953. After high school he served in the United States Army.

Carl met Louise Hash while he was stationed in the service at Washington D.C. and they were married on March 12, 1960 in Berryville, VA. They celebrated 59 years together. After they moved back to Kansas they owned and operated Bronson Oil Company in Strauss for a time where Carl worked as the mechanic. Carl eventually went into farming full time while raising his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved playing his guitar at get-togethers with family and at community gatherings. He had given each grandchild one of his guitars. Carl was a member of Parsons Foursquare Church and most recently had attended Western Way Cowboy Church.

Survivors include his children, Carla Buntin, and her husband, Kevin of Erie, Susie Robin, and her husband Scott, of Strauss and Dusty Bronson, and his wife, Tina of Parsons; his grandchildren, Chris Buntin, and his wife, Chelsey of Altamont, Ashley Tromsness, and her husband, Adam of Galesburg, Kyle Buntin, and his wife, Morgan of Erie, Tyler Robin, and his wife, Cearrah of Frontenac, Tessa Johnson, and her husband, Clint of Girard, Noah Bronson of Parsons, Jase Sherwood, and his wife, Kourtenay of Pratt, and Lex Sherwood, and his wife, Ashley of Iola, KS; his great-grandchildren, Raimi, Sage, Sawyer and Lincoln Buntin of Altamont, Scout, Thatcher, Sailor and Harper Tromsness of Galesburg, Kendall and Cannon Buntin of Erie, Sydnee and Huckson Johnson of Girard, Kaden and Jax of Pratt; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Bronson, on April 4, 2019, his parents and a brother Wylie Bronson.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at McCune Cemetery with Pastor Les Green officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:30 until service time on Tuesday. Friends may sign the book at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home on Monday until 7 p.m. and Tuesday morning.
