UPDATE: No one injured in Johnson County plane crash

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A small plane crashed near the Johnson County Executive Airport on Friday afternoon, Overland Park police confirmed.

The plane went down south of 159th Street and east of Pflumm Road in Overland Park.

The incident happened around noon Friday. Johnson County Airport Commission shut down the airport at 12:03 p.m. and reopened at 1:45 p.m.

The pilot of a Piper P28A crashed while attempting to return to Johnson County Executive Airport after having engine problems.

Although police initially said two people were injured, police later said updated that the pilot and passenger on the aircraft reported no injuries.
