James Arlo Forsyth, age 86, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, in Round Rock, Texas. He was born June 13, 1935, in Lyman, Utah, the son of Marvin and Venice (Lyman) Forsyth.
James was a 1944 graduate of Grant Union High School in Sacramento, California and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a Journeyman Electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
On June 7, 1975, he married Mary Jeanette Shoun, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
James is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanette; three daughters, Pam Metts and her husband Ron, of Alva, Texas, Darlene Woolhiser of Nixa, Missouri and Orvilla McDaniel and her husband, Dennis, of Georgetown, Texas; two sons, Jim Forsyth and his wife, Jeane, of Port Orange, Florida and Bill Hahn and his wife, Kathy, of Sacramento, California; one sister, Thelma Paulson of Taylorsville, Utah; one brother, Clifton Forsyth of Sacramento, California and 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin, and Venice; one daughter, Paula Hart; two sons, Sam, and Jim Hahn; one sister, Helen Grundy; three brothers, Warren, Vernell and Steven Forsyth and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Summit Cemetery northeast of Mt. Vernon.
