William “Bill” Divine

William Donald “Bill” Divine, 64, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Bill entered this life on February 26, 1957 in Parsons, KS, born to the late, Carson and Rosa (Slaughter) Divine.  Bill Divine, also known as “Wild Bill”, “Willis”, “Billy Don”, “Pops”, “Papa” or “Dad” was loved and adored by so many.  He was a soft-hearted man who would do anything for the ones he loved.  Bill was a jokester and a little on the ornery side.  He was hilarious and witty and brought a smile to your face or made you laugh out loud every time you seen him!  He definitely left an impression on those he met.  Most remember the day it was and have a story to tell about it.  Bill was a rare and dying breed, a true cowboy thru and thru.  He loved his farm, riding horses, or driving his John Deer tractor out in the hay field which is where you would find him most.  If you had the pleasure of knowing him you knew you could always count on him to be there when you needed him. He was the best kind of neighbor.  His neighbors have all stated that “the holler will never be the same without him”.  He was always the life of the party, a social butterfly, a good time and fun to be around.  Most importantly, he was a loving father who worked hard his entire life to give his children the best he could.  His love for them was unconditional.  His grandchildren made his world go round and brought him such happiness and joy in his heart.  He lived for them for many years now.  Preceded in death by his father, Carson LeeRoy Divine Sr.; his mother, Rosa Anne Slaughter; a little brother, Paul Dwayne Divine; a granddaughter, Abigail Layne Divine; and two grandsons, Steven Tyler Thomas, and Tucker Alan Divine.

Surviving relatives and family are two sons, William Shane Divine and Travis Lee Divine (Jessica); two daughters, Sara Jo Divine, and Tracy Lynn Hand (Luke); three sisters, Mary Anne Black (Tony), Retha Gilmore (Greg), and Donna Grotjohn (Richard); two brothers, Carson LeeRoy Divine Jr. (Gloria), and Dan Divine (Donna); 10 grandchildren, Sunny Day Divine, Percy Rose Divine, Matthew David Wright, Mallory Mae Wright, Clayton Michael Hand, Logan Edwin Hand, Laynie Divine Thomas, William Bronc Divine, Ellie Grace Divine, Cole Augustus Divine; two great-grandchildren, Everett Hayes McCord, and Baker Gray McCord.
