Ronald “Ron” Blodgett

Ronald “Ron” Allen Blodgett, age 73, of Galena, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at his home.

Ron, son of the late John and Thais (Poirel) Blodgett, was born on October 20, 1948 in Aurora, Illinois.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served his country honorably.  He was united in marriage to Mildred McPherson on July 24, 1994 in Belen, NM.  Together they owned and operated Ron & Millie’s Lawn Service in Galena.  Ron was a man of many talents and known as a “Jack of All Trades” and sometimes as a “Master of None” to his family.  He enjoyed helping others by lending a helping hand or providing a lending ear with wisdom in his advice and teachings.  He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred “Millie” Blodgett, of Galena; children, Tabatha Blalock, of NM, Darren Blalock, and his wife, Amy, of Galena, Ronnie Blodgett, of OK, Robbie Blodgett, of NM, Donald Martin Jr., of Moberly, Christine Guillen, and her husband, John, of Albuquerque, NM, and Louie Davis, and his wife, Erin, of Galena; grandchildren, Michael, Josiah, Jonathan, James, Melissa, Alexiah, Nick, Tanner, Emilee, William, Nathaniel, and Tyler; and great grandchildren, Dezi, Kenzley, Parker, Misty Rose, and Rayden.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Military honors will be conducted on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with the family to receive friends for a time of visitation following the military honors until 6:00 PM.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
