Jacquelyn L. Miner

Jacquelyn L. Miner, 91, Chanute, KS., passed away on Dec. 21, 2021.
She was born on March 2, 1930, to Crystal and Alton Willard, Baxter Springs, KS.

She attended school in Baxter Springs where she graduated from high school. After graduation she worked at the local newspaper. On March 26, 1949, she married Marvin D. Miner. They made their home in Baxter Springs and later moved to Galena, KS. where they restored the historic Victorian Schermerhorn house on Fifth St. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Miner moved to Joplin, Mo. In recent years, she lived with her daughter in Chanute, KS.

Jackie dedicated her life to raising her 6 children. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved flowers, sewing and took great pleasure in restoring antiques and working on various projects around the house. She loved dogs and enjoyed spoiling them. She was a caring friend and will be dearly missed by many.

Survivors include children, Keith (Julie)Miner, Belvidere, ILL., Jan (Jerry) Rogers, Chanute, KS. Wes (Charlotte) Miner, Rogers AR. Stuart (Tammy) Miner, Galena, KS., Brad (Shel) Miner, Pittsburg, KS. and Lindy (Jeff) Phipps, Arlington, TX; twenty-five grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28,2021 at the Derfelt Funeral Home Baxter Chapel. Pastor Audie Tash will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Joplin Meals on Wheels.
Funeral arrangements are under the Direction of Defelt Funeral home Baxter Chapel.
