Ida L. Jameson

Ida L. Jameson, 84, of Chetopa, Kansas passed away at her home at 9:53 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Ida Lois Jameson was born January 19, 1937 in Chetopa to William McKinley Armstrong and Juanita Madolyn (Jones) Armstrong.  Ida grew up in Chetopa and attended the Douglass School there and then the Chetopa High School where she graduated in 1955.  Following high school, Ida moved to Detroit, Michigan where she lived for a time before moving back to Chetopa where she lived since.

Ida worked for SEK-CAP the Southeast Kansas Community Action Program in Oswego, Kansas for 28 years.  She always enjoyed helping others, playing bingo, going to casinos and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chetopa and the Ladies Auxiliary with the Chetopa VFW.

She was united in marriage to Harry Kenneth Jameson on September 3, 1972 at Baxter Springs, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on September 29, 1998.

Survivors include:

Two Daughters:  Juanita Kepner (Richard) – Chetopa, Kansas

Antoinette Prosper – North Little Rock, Arkansas

Four Grandchildren – Eight Great-grandchildren

One Sister:  Wilda Hardrick – Wichita, Kansas

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Robert and Kenneth Armstrong and three sisters, Neola Brooks, Martha Quinzy and Lynette Miles.  She was also preceded in death by two children, Anita Middlebrook and William Armstrong.

Funeral services for Ida L. Jameson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa with Rev. Randy Frazier officiating.  Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m., until service time on Wednesday.
