Substitute teacher arrested for ‘Attempted Sexual Exploitation’

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. – Investigators arrest a substitute teacher for alleged attempted sexual exploitation of a Frontenac student.

On November 16, 2021, Frontenac USD 249 administration reported an incident to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO). It involved a substitute teacher and a student from the school district.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the substitute teacher allegedly requested a female student to engage in sexually explicit conduct via mobile phone. According to the report, the student refused the request and reported it to a parent. That parent subsequently reported it to school officials.

The Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation resulting in the arrest of the 39-year-old from Frontenac, Kansas.

They took the suspect to the Crawford County Jail for Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Child.

The Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office has not filed official charges as of 3:30 pm Monday.
