NEW YORK CITY – Bearsun, the man walking from Los Angeles to New York in a bear suit, has made it to New York City. He came through Joplin back in September.
We caught up with him along 7th street during his journey through Joplin. He wasn’t just walking for fun he was raising money for a number of different charities, like mental health and autism.
Today, Bearsun announced that he’s made it to New York City. This is video from his YouTube channel as he walked with a group through New York City into Times Square. As we mentioned, he made the trek to raise money for five different charitable groups.
Charitable Efforts
- The first charity is the Villa Esperanza services, a disabled community, which he managed to pull in nearly $17,000 for.
- For the National Breast Cancer Foundation Bearsun’s walk brought in about $16,000.
- Moving on to “Active Minds”, a mental health organization, he raised a total just under $19,000.
- Charity number four, the Autism Society of America, managed to garner just a hair over $19,000 from Bearsun’s walk.
- And finally, his walk brought in just under $15,000 for the environmental defense fund. In his long trip across America Bearsun brought in $85,287 for charity.
