Randall “Randy” Lee Smith

Randall Smith, 74, of Parsons, died at 8:10 A.M., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home where he resided with his son, Tommy.

He was born July 16, 1947 at Chanute, a son of Lois Maxine (Pheiffer) and Clyde Leo Smith, Jr. He grew up at Fredonia and attended school there. During the Vietnam Conflict he served in the United States Army and was stationed at Honolulu, HI. Following his discharge he moved to Bartlesville, OK where he was employed at Pepsico. He moved to Parsons in 1979 and was employed at the City of Parsons as Head of Public Works. He also worked as a truck driver at Debreck Trucking of Paola. In his younger years he was a co-owner of the Fifty-Four Lounge at Wichita and the Goodtime Lounge in Bartlesville.

He was united in marriage to Sondra House. They later divorced. He then married Dena “Toots” Bryant. They later divorced however remained close friends. He later married Ruth Morton. They later divorced. He was later united in marriage to Joyce Knowles and they later divorced.

In past years he was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Fredonia. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who brought him much joy. He also enjoyed visiting local taverns and socializing with friends.

Survivors include: one son – Tommy Lee Smith, Parsons, KS; three daughters – Brenda K. Davis, Blue Springs, MO, Angela Michelle Smith, Parsons, KS, Sheila Diane Smith, Fredonia, KS; one sister – Sharon Cafferty, Stockbridge, GA. He was preceded in death by one brother – Richard L. Smith and one sister – Linda Bryant.

A celebration of life service will be held at later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
