Vera Louise “Sis” Lesher, 80, of Howard, KS passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021. She was born on October 16, 1941 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Reed and Hazel (Walker) Hart. Sis grew up in Sedan and surrounding areas and from a young age began to develop and nourish her relationship with “her Jesus”. She spent her time enjoying all that the Lord had provided her, splashing in mud puddles any chance she got, yardwork, making a trip to the casino every once in a while and playing Farkle with her friends at the Sedan Senior Center. Most of all, Sis loved her family. She had four children and many nieces and nephews, related and adopted – that didn’t make a difference, she loved them all.
Sis leaves behind three of her children Richard Wells of Alaska, Bill (Bridgette) Lesher of Sedan, KS, Heather (Richie) Nowlin of Mexico, MO, grandchildren Nicky (Justin) Boente, Devenie (Matt) Beckham, Deanna (Jamie) Spann, Ashley (Tim) Anthony, JJ (Hailey) Chatfield, Chris (Lakin) Boyce, Taylor (Josh) Boyce, her many nieces and nephews, numerous great grandchildren, extended family and her life-long best friend Deanna “Nanner” Buckner that love her greatly.
Preceding her in death and welcoming her in heaven are her parents, brothers Kelly and Steve Hart, a daughter and son in law Shawn and Larry Chatfield, and a grandson, Aaron Chatfield.
A memorial service for Sis will be held Saturday, November 13th at 3pm at the First Baptist Church in Howard, KS.
