CHANUTE, Kan. – Middle school students in Chanute got to try some new food trucks. That’s because the trucks were designed by career course students as part of an entrepreneurial project. The project had students learn and apply culinary, accounting, supply-chain, design, marketing, and managerial strategies.
TOPEKA, Kan. – In Kansas, Governor Laura Kelly spoke to the “safer classrooms” workgroup about the vaccine for kids. Kelly says the state has ordered 128-thousand doses of the vaccine for the five-to-eleven age group. She says the majority of that has already arrived and the rest is expected by Friday. Half of the doses ordered will go to large health care providers and local hospitals in packages of 300. The other half will be re-packaged in smaller amounts for pediatricians, family physicians, community health centers and other providers.
NEOSHO, Mo. – Student clubs and organizations across Crowder College are making sure other students always have something to eat. The groups are putting on a food drive through November 19th, collecting non-perishable food items and hygeine products. Those donations will benefit Watered Gardens and the Rider pantry, which students can access when in need.
JOPLIN, MO. – Operation Christmas Child will soon arrive to the 4-States. In less than two weeks, drop-off locations will open to the public. More than 4,000 locations will open to collect items for Operation Christmas Child. The project has been collecting and delivering what they call Shoebox gifts. These gifts are filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and fun toys. It opens for donations from Novmber 15th to the 22nd. To find a drop-off location near you simply google “Operation Christmas Child” and click on the link that says “Shoebox drop off locations.” Once there you can enter your zipcode and find the nearest drop off site to you.
