JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin’s Main Street shut down between 4th and 7th streets because it’s really hard to drive around a big crane.
A large crane, tasked with untangling the American flag on City Hall’s roof led to the street’s closure.
Jeffrey Teenis was the man tasked with operating the machinery, he says it’s an old problem – that needed a solution “So several years ago, the rope had broken on the state flag pole. So this was an opportunity for us to go ahead and restore it. While we’re up there, we went ahead and put all new ropes into all the flagpoles.”
Now, Old Glory flies free, and Missouri’s state flag has returned to its rightful place.
