Wild Bill

William “Wild Bill” Lee Epperson of Miami, OK passed from this life Monday, November 1, 2021 at his home. He was 69.

Wild Bill was born June 12, 1952 in Miami, OK to Ray and Violet (Albro) Epperson. He had lived in Miami most of his life. He graduated from Miami High School class of 1969 and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division and received a Bronze Star. Wild Bill was a carpenter and had worked for the City of Miami Street Department. He was a member of the Southeast Baptist Church in Miami, OK.

Wild Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Gene Vanover and 1 sister, Homa Fry.

Wild Bill is survived by his wife Tammy (Colburn) Epperson, 2 daughters, Michelle Epperson of Miami, OK and Chyla Epperson of Miami, OK,1 brother, Danny Epperson of Miami, OK, 1 sister, Denia Payton of Miami, OK, 5 grandchildren Austin Perry, Ryley Wood, Kyiah Wood, Channing Fields and Nala Derringer and 1 great grandchild Asa Perry.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Southeast Baptist Church in Miami, OK. Rev. Bob Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in Ottawa Indian Cemetery, SE of Miami, OK. Austin Perry, Danny Epperson, Mike Wright, Tyler Epperson, Chad Epperson, Teddy Morris will serve as pallbearers. Josh Lemos will serve as honorary pallbearer. Military rites will be conducted by Grove Veterans Ritual Team. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
