Thomas E. Helm 50, of Mulberry, KS died 4:47am Friday October 29, 2021 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Thomas was born July 5, 1971 in Vinita, OK the son of Lawrence E. and Carol A. (Ryan) Helm. He was a graduate of Afton High School and later went to the Police Academy.
Thomas married Candace S. Biggs on February 14, 1995 in Afton, OK; she survives at the home. Thomas worked for Columbus Police Department and retired in 2015. Thomas was of the Christian Faith; he enjoyed playing paintball, shooting firearms and gaming with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife; children Jeffrey Briggs of Mulberry, KS, Christina O’Banion and husband George of Arma, KS; brother Les Helm and wife Teresa of Indiana; grandchildren Chloe Briggs, Bella Briggs, Aden Briggs, Chad O’Banion, Ceeli O’Banion, Cauge O’Banion, Creedyn O’Banion and Cali’Dawn O’Banion; one great-grandchild on the way.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and son Dakota Helm.
Graveside Services will be 2:00pm Friday November 5, 2021 at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS with Pastor Larry Hartman officiating. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus, KS.
