TULSA COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities identify human remains found in Tulsa County as Jack Grimes, a missing Oklahoma man. They are investigating his death as a homicide.
Jack Grimes, of Turley, has been missing since October 22, 2021. His friend Dwayne Selby and Dwayne’s mother, Glenda “Cookie” Parton are still missing.
“To have three missing persons, all related, reports taken within a 48 hour period of time, is extremely bizarre. I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Casey Roebuck with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.
Silver Alerts Issued in the Case
Jack Grimes was last heard from on October 22. That’s when he and his friend, 59-year-old Dwayne Selby, were scheduled to head to a horse show in Fort Worth, Texas.
Family members say Grimes always calls them to let them know when he arrives at a horse show, according to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. Grimes never called them to let him know he had arrived in Fort Worth. The two men were supposed to return home on October 25, but they remained missing.
Authorities say Jack Grimes required medication to manage his diabetes. On October 26, authorities issued a Silver Alert for Grimes.
On October 28, authorities found the car belonging to Grimes at Mohawk Park, a Tulsa Park.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Selby’s mother, Glenda Parton, was searching the Turley area for her son. She started her search on October 25.
But then, she disappeared, too.
80-year-old Glenda “Cookie” Parton lived in Pryor, Oklahoma. On October 26, the Pryor Creek Police Department issued a Silver Alert for Parton after they found her vehicle abandoned on Highway 75 near 56th Street North near Turley.
Person of Interest
Following Parton’s disappearance, the Sheriff’s Office was looking for the identity of a “person of interest.”
On October 27, detectives got a video of Glenda Parton just before she disappeared. She was at a local business with a man.
The next day, authorities identified the person of interest and spoke with him. Authorities have not released any further information about this man.
