Latest blog: Heat returns! Also a severe threat. -Doug

Good Thursday night or Friday morning.  I hope you are having a great week and enjoying the great temperatures we have been having.  My week is going pretty well except I through my back out on Sunday.  Now don’t laugh, but I somehow did this in my sleep.  42 years old feels amazing!

Who is ready for summer?  It is going to heat right back up.  Check out Friday.

Thankfully the humidity won’t be to bad.  This will last right on into the weekend.  Lets move to Saturday.

This continues into Sunday as well, so the heat all weekend and then we will see some changes.

But look at the next storm system.  This is our first bigger system that we have seen in about a week and a half by the time it makes it here.  I think most of the day will be fine but if you are heading to the Chiefs game Sunday night, I hope the storms hold off until after the game.  A line of thunderstorms will drive in late evening into the overnight hours.

Some of these storms could be strong to severe.  The main threat will be wind and hail but something to watch.  Right behind it, another powerful system works in on Tuesday.

This system looks like afternoon storms with a line that drives through by Tuesday night.  So the pattern really picks up next week.

The new Heady Pattern has been in place for a couple weeks now and I am very interested to see this first cycle.  We are a couple weeks into the cycle and here in 3 or 4 weeks I will have a very good idea on what our winter, spring and next summer have in store.  So make sure to keep following along as we go through this month.  Long range forecast is below.

October 17th-23rd:  A warm start to the week with rain chances on Tuesday and Wednesday.  This will drop us back to mild temps the rest of the week.

October 24th-30th:  A mild start with rain chances on Monday.  Turning cooler or chilly the rest of the work week but warming up a bit by the weekend.

October 31st-November 6th:  Cool with a few showers for Halloween.  The week looks great with mild temperatures with rain chances by the weekend.
