GIRARD, Kan. – Girard Medicalodges closes its doors. A worker shortage forced the move of 19 residents from the Girard facility to Frontenac. Medicalodges says both residents and their families were notified of the move. However, when we reached out on Facebook to those affected, one woman said if she had been informed *before* the move her family would have moved her grandfather elsewhere because he was not getting the care she wanted for him. Medicalodges Girard residents move to Frontenac location due to worker shortages

MONETT, Mo. – Cox hospital in Monett held a community wellness event, trying to get folks out to check up on themselves. For the past nine years, the hospital has been holding these wellness events for the community, although covid has changed how they look recently. Officials say they had more than 50 people lined up at the door before the clinic opened for the event at 7:00pm Saturday morning. The clinic offered blood screenings as well as covid-19 vaccines with the goal of getting people to get a check up they may have otherwise been putting off. Cox Monett holds community wellness clinic

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Saturday, volunteers spent the day making Carthage lawns look different than before. Volunteers from the National Honors Society, Scouts BSA, and Habitat for Humanity beautified Carthage lawns. They helped improve the community’s appearance, which is one of the goals set by the city of Carthage. LAMAR, Mo. – The Wyatt Earp Fall Fest returns to Lamar. The event was put on by the Barton County Chamber of Commerce, and celebrates the famous lawman who got his start in Lamar.
