Deidra A. Fortune

Deidra Ann Fortune, 67, of Carl Junction Missouri, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Deidra was born to Rodney Fortune and Dorothy Plushow(Taylor) on June 16th. 1954. She grew up in the Brainerd and Twin Cities area until she married Steven Alan Petersen from Byron Minnesota and spent her married years in the Kasson Mantorville area.

She raised 3 daughters, Shannon Ayer of Carl Junction Missouri, Brandi Sullivan(Jeff) of Brainerd Minnesota, and Joei Klemish(Tom) of Swanville Minnesota. She has 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Mae being the apple of her eye.

She loved anything that was a challenge, she was very determined. Deidra loved puzzles, birds, making quilts with her mom, fabric painting, flowers and her fairy garden, her kids, grandkids, and family more than life itself.

She worked a few jobs from running a mercantile with a laundry in the back, cleaning Kahler hotel in Rochester Minnesota, to being a cook at the jail in Brainerd Minnesota.

She leaves behind her kids, grandkids and great grandkids, her twin brother Douglas Fortune(Sandra), sisters Lila Lockwood(Kevin), Ginger Rowe(Richard), and Tracey Schneider. 3 more brothers, Paul, Howard, and Troy Fortune.

She is preceded in death by her husband Steven, parents, brother Rodney, sisters ReNae and DorisEllen, 3 neices, and her granddaughter Sarah Ann.

Services will be Thursday Sept. 16th 2021 at Harmony Heights Baptist church in Joplin Missouri with a Celebration of Life and Luncheon at King Jack park behind the praying hands in Webb City Missouri.
